69th Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din
🌕 What is Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din — and Why Do We Celebrate It?
Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din isn’t just a date on the calendar — it’s a day that changed the lives of millions.
On October 14, 1956, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, one of India’s greatest leaders, stood before a sea of people in Nagpur and made a powerful decision: he left behind the religion that had oppressed him and countless others for centuries — and embraced Buddhism, a path of peace, equality, and dignity.
And he didn’t go alone. He was joined by over half a million people, mostly from Dalit and marginalized communities, who followed his lead. They weren’t just changing their religion. They were reclaiming their self-respect, their humanity, and their right to live with dignity.
Ambedkarite Buddhist Association of Texas (ABAT) would like to invite you to celebrate the 69th Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din with your friends and family. It’s a free event and will include speeches from esteem guests and various cultural activities.
